When i turn my laptop on the screen doesn't come on any ideas what i look forward to hearing from u

If the lights come on as normal but you see nothing on the display then it may have failed. To test for this try connecting an external monitor and see if there is anything displayed on that. If that doesn't work then the problem is more fundamental. Either the computer does not complete its initial Power On Self Test sequence or the graphics chip has failed.

I have tryed an external monitor and there is nothing but all lights do come on. Would you have any idea how much a grafics card will cost or how to fix it it is not starting up properly

according to UKTSupport this has integrated Intel graphics, so a plug-in graphics card is not an option
New motheboard required - or find someone prepared to ID the circuitry fault and repair the board,
The basic problem is that its an Advent.
1) built to a budget
2) because these are rebadged items built by a third party, finding spares will probably be hard to impossible. So far I've not been able to ID the real manufacturer of this one

I'm afraid if it isn't a problem with the display then your computer is probably beyond economic repair.

These only cost around £230 when new
hard to see how a repair can be cost-effective if a new board is required
To be honest, even replacing simply replacing a faulty screen (even though its only a 13' one on this) would be over 50% of the original cost.

hi my advent eclipse E300 red laptop cam is not working and i have tryed the f7 thing but it dosent work dose any one know what to do

That appears to really be a Shuttle A13IV
And there is no publicly accessible support page for it on the Shuttle website (I had hoped there would be a driver download)
Have you spoken to Dixon/PCWorlds tech support team? What did they say?

I just created an account on the Shuttle support site, and discovered that there are no downloadable drivers there of any type.
Not very helpful I'm afraid. Your best bet it to speak to PCWorld support and ask where you can download the drivers

I have the same laptop. My problem is that I've knocked it, and now when u switch it on, the advent screen comes on as normal, but starts making a weird noise, I'm finally greeted with the message, 'insert boot device and press any key' after pressing any key the message just repeats. Is this beyond repair? (I'm now out of warranty)

it seems likely that the knock broke the hard drive. Should be possible to fit another, but then you'll have to get someone to reinstall windows for you (I assume you don't have setup disks)
